this, the company holds approvals from the following bodies:
British Safety Council (BSC), Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB),
Factory Mutual (FM), Construction Health & Safety Scheme (CHAS),
Utilities Vendor Data Base (UVDB), Royal Society for the Prevention of
Accidents (ROSPA).
BS OHSAS 18001:2007 is the latest certification specification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. It is based on already published
criteria such as BS 8800:2004, HSG 65 and the Management Regulations 1992. BS OHSAS 18001:2007 is an audit/certification specification, not a
legislative requirement or a guide to implementation. The setting of targets through the Health and Safety policy, together with the ongoing
measurement against the targets ensures we constantly raise the level of Health and Safety throughout the organisation and that site health
and safety is at the best it can be.
BS EN ISO 14001:2004 is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses. It prescribes controls for those activities we undertake that have an effect on the environment. These include the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste, recycling of materials and energy consumption. This accreditation proves how seriously we at Galglass take our carbon footprint. By having an environmental policy we are guaranteed to reduce our impact on the environment and having these processes in place means it is now something the whole organisation contributes to.
