New Accreditations Awarded
Galglass are delighted to announce that we have been awarded full certification for BS OSHAS 18001:2007 and BS EN ISO 14001:2004 to add to our
existing certificate BS EN ISO 9001:2008. Improving our health and safety policies and developing an official Environmental policy has been the
'big challenge' for 2011. Being safe in everything we do, right across the organisation is key part of our mission at Galglass. Over the
last 6 months our Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality team have worked tirelessly in order to obtain this set of certifications.
Their hard work has paid off, as Galglass have now been awarded their BS OSHAS 18001:2007 along with their BS EN ISO 14001:2004
certification. We thought we'd give you a little detail on what all this technical information means!
What is BS OSHAS 18001:2007?
BS OHSAS 18001:2007 is the latest certification specification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. It is based on already published criteria such as
BS 8800:2004, HSG 65 and the Management Regulations 1992. BS OHSAS 18001:2007 is an audit/certification specification, not a legislative requirement or a guide to implementation.
Being fully registered to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 means that we can be more confident about meeting the requirements of Health and Safety legislation as well as
helping to ensure the continued safety of our employees. The setting of targets through the Health and Safety policy, together with the ongoing measurement
against the targets ensures a process of continued improvement.

What is BS EN ISO 14001:2004?
BS EN ISO 14001:2004 is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management of businesses. It prescribes controls for those activities we
undertake that have an effect on the environment. These include the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste, recycling
of materials and energy consumption.
