Galglass becomes a CIEH Registered Training Centre
We are delighted to announce that Galglass has been appointed as an approved training
provider for the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
Our approval means that we can now officially train our own Galglass workforce and sub-contractors in various Health and Safety subjects such as Manual Handling, Principles of Risk Assessments, Stress Awareness, COSHH, Conflict Resolution and Fire Safety Awareness.
All of our courses will be taught at different levels of competency from L1 - L4, with the resulting CIEH qualifications being accredited by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA). This new approval will enable us to ensure that all levels of the Galglass workforce from management through to site based operatives can benefit from the training and qualifications awarded by CIEH. We are confident that this greater availability of training will allow the whole Galglass team to receive the appropriate training required in order to assist us in our daily work routine, whilst also allowing our individual employee’s skills base to further improve.
We will strive for each employee to undertake new training and refresher courses. The training will run on a three year cycle in all of the disciplines listed above. This training plan will be administered over and above the industry standards of CSCS and CPCS, which will continue to be strictly enforced for all our site operations.
Our newly improved training schedule will aim to improve the management of our contracts by reducing problems which could result from lack of knowledge, thereby avoiding situations that could lead to the possibility of litigation. The training will also assist in reducing lost time on site, whilst maintaining the Galglass commitment to our employee’s ongoing continuous professional development (CPD).
This new approval from the CIEH will go a long way towards helping us in our endeavor to constantly improve and strengthen our Health and Safety culture here at Galglass.
