Galglass Tanks are the Choice for
the AD Industry
Galglass Ltd are pleased to announce the successful completion of many more storage
tanks involved in various municipal and on-farm Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants,
most recently for Biogen Greenfinch at Harper Adams University College in Shropshire.
Galglass were responsible for the design, manufacture, supply, and installation of the
tanks involved in the AD process, including the large Primary & Secondary Digester
tanks. The tanks have all been tested off successfully, and are ready to start producing biogas.
Having worked with Biogen Greenfinch on several other projects, Galglass were delighted to be
selected as their preferred tank supplier on this project. We see it as reinforcement of our
reputation as the UK's No. 1 tank company for the AD market. The tanks supplied in this
instance used the most current tank panel coating technology available in the industry,
fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coated mild steel. The performance benefits of the FBE system
were the main reason Galglass tanks were chosen rather than other coating technology
options, such as glass coating.
With growing customer focus on value based engineering, Galglass had to focus on
bringing some new product development to the market place and we are pleased to
say that we have had a surge in demand for our FBE coating. Our steel tank material
options include; stainless, epoxy coated, glass coated, and black carbon steel.
Often, our customers use a combination of these materials in their tank wall and
roof structures. In the case of the Harper Adams project, the FBE technology
was fully researched and quality checked by the clients so that everyone had
total confidence in what they were buying. We have 32 years continuous business
experience as a storage tank manufacturer, and we have built our reputation on
doing what we say we will do and for manufacturing and installing quality products
at competitive prices.
