Health & safety are of paramount importance to Galglass. To build
tanks in a safe and efficient manner is an essential part of the
Galglass offering. This culture that we have created is headed
up by our NEBOSH qualified Safety Health & Enviornmental Manager
Jamie Reilly. Galglass have been awarded the International Safety
Award for the second time in 3 years by demonstrating its commitment
and dedication in delivering a quality product in a safe and efficient manner.
Our NEBOSH qualified & full time Safety, Health & Environmental Manager,
Jamie Reilly collected the award on behalf of Galglass at the prestigious
award ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
"To win this award, especially in these difficult times, is a testament to
our commitment and drive to be the safest market leader in the tank industry.
Galglass do not see health & safety as a 'cost to cut' but as a crucial part
of our well-run business that delivers benefits not only our organisation
and employees, but also our customers".
Our positive safety culture has allowed Galglass to currently work more than
540 days, which equates to 430,000 Man hours worked, without sustaining a
reportable injury, disease or dangerous occurrence as prescribed under the
RIDDOR Regulations.
As well as having numerous accreditations including UVDB, CHAS and LPCB,
our Safety, Health & Environmental Management System has been rating by the
British Safety Council as a 5 star system, best of the best. This was achieved
by having in place, a programme of continuous improvement, demonstrated by our
commitment, that safety is of paramount importance and best practice is
evolving continuously.
Galglass, who already hold ISO 9001 for quality, will shortly build on this
by obtaining ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001.
